Vellum88 is a web gazetteer: a systematically kept index of active web addresses, sorted into 22 subject districts and maintained by hand. It records businesses, services, and organisations that operate public websites, without ranking them, rating them, or accepting payment for placement.

The current edition holds 833 verified entries. Districts range in size from the 189-address General Establishments section — the catch-all for addresses that span more than one subject — to smaller specialised registers such as Documentation & Attestation Services and Property & Estate Agents. Each entry is recorded at the same level of detail regardless of the size of the business it represents.

Entries are added on a rolling basis. When a submission arrives, it is reviewed against the existing index to confirm the address is active and falls within the scope of the declared district. Approved entries appear in the relevant section within a few days of submission. The gazetteer does not notify submitters individually; the entry simply appears when it has been processed.

The gazetteer is free to consult and free to submit to. There is no subscription, no account to create, and no fee for listing. Any site owner with a public web address may submit through the form on the relevant district page.

Vellum88 is maintained as a plain reference work. It does not write reviews, run advertisements, or accept sponsored placements. Its only purpose is to record addresses and make them easy to locate by subject district.
